Small Business Blogging – it joins the dots of Social Media

Having visited a number of small business blogs in recent weeks a continuing trend is the lack of updates being made with some having been last updated a year or two ago.

Perhaps small businesses or those providing insight into small business trends, news and topics of interest, have lost sight of what blogging is really for. It serves as your online home, integrating all elements of you social media presence, allowing you to provide direction and content and hub for all paths being followed.

A blog provides a platform from which businesses can provide a more complete image of themselves and communicate all that they stand for, engaging with readers to a greater extent than on social networking sites.

In a sense the social networking sites act as an initial advertising space, allowing interested parties, customers and potential customers to get a snapshot of your business and your blog provides a more in depth picture.

The Intelligent Information Systems Blog is updated at least 4 times a week, but we try to update it daily. It is central to our social media presence as it is were we provide the most content from and then broadcast it across the different channels.

We will be hosting a webinar in early May introducing Intelligent Ecommerce for SAP Business One and Social Media Marketing for your business with guest speaker Richard Duffy, Marketing and Social Media Evangelist.
