Most businesses want to grow…quite a generalised statement but one that is backed up by recent research carried out by SAP.
According to a report by SAP (UK) Limited, entitled ‘Thinking Bigger Report’, SMEs are feeling optimistic about their growth prospects for the year ahead – with a massive 95 % claiming that growth is their number one goal.
Additionally, 48 per cent of SMEs are expecting to grow by a massive 10 per cent year on year, while 30% are hoping to grow at a faster rate than their competitors. Around two-thirds (66%) expect to grow in line with the competition.
Finally, over two-fifths of SMEs rate growth over commercial stability; claiming it is a ‘greater priority’ over the next two years.
SMEs (small to medium sized businesses) need to formulate a strategy so that they can take their business to the next level in the most efficient profitable way possible. You need to feel confident that your systems will continue support you and manage your business as and when it grows.
“The system coped very well with the volumes, and we were able to accommodate the increased level of transactions without increasing our staffing levels.”
Billy Howard, Company Accountant, Algeos
“What we have realised is because of the cut down in manual work, my gut feel is that we can increase our turnover by between 50% and 70% without having to increase the staff numbers; with the decrease in time it takes to process each order we can put a lot more volume through.”
Jakob Kristensen, Managing Director, Go Beyond Ltd
“SAP Business One has given us a solid platform on which to grow the company. We are confident that we can double or triple our business with the same administrative overhead.”
Philip Delaney, Managing Director, Dairyglen
